Haringvliet

Haringvliet

Since the closure of the open connection with the North Sea, this huge inland lake has become a paradise for skippers of (larger) yachts and motor vessels. Moreover, the North Sea is still easy to reach via the Haringvliet Locks. Small towns such as Hellevoetsluis and Middelharnis are ideal places to go to, whilst you enjoy some good sailing.

Along the Haringvliet, there are numerous marinas where you can hire a boat, as well as find all of the facilities which a water sports enthusiast might need. There’s a trailer-slope near to Quackstrand, where smaller boats can reach the water. The Haringvliet is not only excellent water for sailing, but it is also a superb nature reserve.
