Grensroute Terneuzen
Grensroute Terneuzen
Oost Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, West Zeeuws-Vlaanderen, Zeeuwse- VlaanderenGeneral
Terneuzen has four borders. The entire north border lies on the Westerschelde; the eastern border separates the municipalities of Terneuzen and Hulst. The southern forms the International border between the Netherlands and Belgium. And the western border separates the municipalities of Terneuzen and Sluis.
The borders of the municipalities take you past diverse interesting sights. Go and take a look round the maritime city Terneuzen. From the Westerschelde dike you can watch many ships passing by. In the surrounding extensive polders there are lovely nature areas such as the Pereboomsgat near Koewacht. The canal from Gent to Terneuzen forms the financial artery for Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. On reaching the canal you can either take the easterly route which is about 76 kilometres long, or the westerly route which is 68 kilometres.
