General
The outskirts of Brabantse Wal forms the boundary of the Plateau van West-Brabant. This region goes from Ossendrecht to Huibergen. The Wal existed where the Schelde entered the Oosterschelde when it flowed via Bergen op Zoom. The river washed huge sections of the sandy plateau away leaving a steep bank behind. You cross the middle of the green Brabanste wal, small old polders and large new polders.
Nice to know:
During this cycle trip you will notice the height differences between the wal and the polders: on one side houses with steep drives, on the other side fields and meadows.
