Mantelingroutes

General

Staatsbosbeheer has put out many marked routes that will guide you passed the most beautiful places of the Manteling van Walcheren. This wooded area connects many country seats with each other, for example Westhove. Thanks to the higher grounds here, the deciduous forest was never damaged by the salt water. It is there for centuries old. Lanes ponds and Rhododendrons give away to the attentive person that this is all part of an estate. Ferns and many beautiful flowers grow here and owls, cuckoo and nightingales breed here.

Staatsbosbeheer has developed 2 routes in this area.

Blue route (4 km). You go straight through the forestry of Westhove with its many birds. Here and there there are still capricious English landscape styles to be seen.

White route (3km). Through a part of Berkenbosch, with its straight lined, baroque style path system.
