On Schouwen-Duiveland there are 4 routes specially designed for the handicapped. These routes are developed with the cooperation of the Platform for people with limited mobility Schouwen-Duiveland. Care is taken to insure that the paths are level and crossings safe. Also on this route power points are available.
De Westenschouwenroute
This fabulous route takes you through the changing landscape of Schouwen-Duiveland. You see woods, dunes, polders and water. The route is based on the cycle sign posted system (FIKS) with a few changes.
Nice to know:
In the excursion barn in Boswachterij you can have a cup of coffee and an invalid toilet is available.
De Oosterscheldepolderroute
This route takes you along the Oosterschelde and the polders of Schouwen- Duiveland. You arrive at the new nature reserve `Plan Tureluur’
The route is based on the cycle sign posted system (FIKS) with a few changes.
Nice to know:
Plan Tureluur is a huge nature development project on the south coast of Schouwen-Duiveland. New mud banks have been laid in the Oosterschelde to compensate. Birds enjoy foraging in the open spaces.
