When you think of mountains and castles you don’t think of the Zak of Zuid Beveland, but rather of Austria or Czech republic. And yet there are mountains in the Zak of Zuid Beveland, although they are man made and only a few metres high. There used to be castles and in some places the remains are still visible. This cycle trip takes you back to the medieval Zuid Beveland. The route is 58 km long but can be shortened to 23 km.
Nice to know:
There used to be quite a lot of castles on the Bevelanden. The best known noble families were Van Borselen, the Van der Maalstede and the Van Schengen.
