Noord-Beveland disappeared under the waves during the 1530 Sint Felixvloed (Saint Felix flood). Around 1600 the first polders were diked, slowly piece by piece the land was reclaimed from the sea. Today this former island is joined by civil engineering works to the rest of Zeeland. This cycle trip takes you over the Veerse Gatdam (1967) en the Stormvloedkering (1986).

The view on Veere in phenomenal. In the summer months you can take a cycle- and pedestrian ferry from Kamperland to Veere. Sailing times you will find on www.rondjepontje.nl. Also there is an Almanak about the Zeeuwse ferries. This is available at the Zeeuwse VVV (tourist) offices.
