This 38 kilometre cycle route takes you pass the Southerly coast area of Walcheren.
Here you sea what measures were taken to hold back the sea. At Westkapelle the coast line is completely concreted. The allies bombed the dike at this point to force the Germans to surrender. The sea water flooded in and out for a year. The Westkapelse creek remindes you of that.
Nice to know:
Between Zoutelande en Dishoek you find the highest dunes of the Netherlands. There is a footpath on top of these dunes. From here the view is fantastic and you can see great ships sailing pass.
On the other side of the dunes you have a view over the small areas of Walcheren.
