Volkerak
The Volkerak is part of the Schelde-Rijnkanaal. These waters are used by trade shipping vessels, and are very busy. So be very careful and keep to starboard as much as possible. As you navigate towards the Volkeraksluizen, you pass the (partially) dry salt marshes and mudflats which are a paradise for birds during the brooding season and when they are resting. Go in the direction of the yacht-lock, which is especially for the use of pleasure craft, and where it is also very easy to find a mooring. To the south of the Krammer, the Volkerak, the Hollandsch Diep, the Amer and the Biesbosch, you’ll find the protected navigable waters of the Dinter, the Mark, the Wilhelminakanaal, the Roosendaalse Vliet and the Steenbergse Vliet, where you can really enjoy yourself.
