Over deze locatie

The current house dates from 1858 and the barn was built in 1929. History shows that this farm was already owned by a Bartel Marinisse Vermuye in the 16th century, it is a coincidence that after 400 years descendants of him, the Vermuë family, are now living there again.

At the end of the 19th century, in the early 1900s, this farm was still inhabited and cultivated by a Steendijk family. Around 1910 Izak Hage became a farmer there. He left the farm in 1928 and had a house built in Sint-Maartensdijk, at the Woudhoek, just before the onion processing company of Dacomex. Just like the farm, this house has always carried the name 'Bijenkorf' (Beehive).

After the departure of Izak, who had no children of his own, he was succeeded by a nephew: Jacob J. Hage. This Jacob came over from Tien Gemeten, South Holland. He was still unmarried but later married a woman named Elenbaas from a farm in the polder between Sint-Annaland and Sint-Maartensdijk.

Jacob Hage lived and worked on the farm for many years. He had two daughters. The eldest daughter is married to a farmer's son named Jaap Nieuwenhuijzen from Goeree-Overflakkee.

Jacob J. Hage left the farm around 1975 and went to live in a bungalow in Sint-Annaland.

After that time the farm was worked and continued by the son-in-law Jaap Nieuwenhuizen, but he did not go to live there. He still ran the farm that he owned in Flakkee (Malland). The present permanent servant from Malland, Marien Bazen, went to live in the house on the farm until his death, instead of in the servant's house for the first few years.
