About this location

In the middle of the centre of Zierikzee there is a building of which the first sight shows that it is of high age and that it has had a special purpose. We have to take its name -the Gravensteen- literally: the stone (building) of the count, in this case the count of Holland, Zeeland and West Friesland.

The Castle of the Counts can only be visited with a guide. The guided tours start on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons from the City Hall Museum Zierikzee at 14:30.During the Dutch school holidays there is a daily guided tour from Tuesday to Saturday at 14:30 from the Stadhuismuseum, Meelstraat 6, Zierikzee. The Town Hall Museum is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 11:00-17:00 hrs and Sunday from 13:00-17:00 hrs.in the Dutch school holidays we are also open on Mondays from 11:00-17:00 hours
