Beaches of West Zeeland-Flanders

More than seventeen kilometres in length and with four seaside resorts: Breskens, Groede, Cadzand and Nieuwvliet. Beautiful, clean sand where you will find all kinds of shells as well as oysters with exquisite markings, small marine animals and… the odd shark's tooth here and there!

You’ll never get bored at the beach here with the never-ending views out over the Westerschelde estuary and its busy shipping lanes. Wherever you cross the dunes, there is a beach close by with plenty of space for sunbathing. In fact, the beautiful expanse of dunes with its footpaths and cycle routes is prized by nature lovers and sports enthusiast alike. And just to complete your day at the seaside, there are plenty of welcoming beach pavilions waiting for you along the beach and in the sand dunes.

Breskens with its own fishing harbour and modern marina with 850 moorings is the ultimate maritime seaside resort. Groede lies close to the sea and the pretty dune area called Cletemspolder that has streams with stepping stones, a duckboard path and footpaths through the dunes as well as a rope raft on a pulley for the kids to test their strength on. It´s the perfect place for splashing and playing around in the water!
