Another pretty village among the flowered dikes of the Zak of Zuid-Beveland and nudging the Westerschelde, Oudelande has added charms, like the linden (lime) trees lining the curved streets around the church.

The brick tower of the 15th century Sint-Eligiuskerk dates from around 1400. One of its charms is that its dial faces are a bit lop-sided. Have a good look. Up for a few rumours and some tittle-tattle? Crafted around the wise old chestnut tree next to the church is a wooden bench, the 'klapbanke'. It has its own Facebook page, so watch your words.

All around Oudelande are orchards, fields and richly vegetated dikes. The entire Zak of Zuid-Beveland is great for bike trips and walking. You’ll find several ready-made routes in our webshop. Or make your own, using the route hub system.
