Windmill De Hoop en Verwachting was built in 1714. The corn mill is located just outside the village of Borssele and used to be used for grinding grain.

The mill is decorated with a simple beard with the inscription 'ANNO 1714' and below it 'De Hoop en Verwachting'. On the back of the cap is a small green beard with four pointed stars. There are two pairs of millstones in the mill.

De Hoop & Verwachting is grindable and can be visited on Saturdays from 13:00 to 16:00 and by appointment.
