This cultural and historical cycle route takes you along a long line of defences dating from the Eighty Years´ War. The route will take you mainly along the eastern side of the fortified town of Hulst. It is not signposted and includes roads and off-road tracks.
Did you know… The land of Hulst is also known as the land of Reynard the Fox. Reynard the Fox is a book that was written at the end of the 13th Century with stories about the cunning fox, Reynard whose sly tricks undermine the norms and values of that time. You can find a bronze statue of Reynard the Fox at the Gentsepoort gate.
